HS-2^® PRO delivers the water-soluble organic fraction — the part of the forest floor's humus cycle that actually travels through soil to the roots.

Holds on to nutrients

Humic substances are negatively charged, so they grip the positively charged nutrients — potassium, calcium, magnesium, ammonium — that would otherwise leach away. Think of it as raising the soil's grip, not its nutrient content.

Helps soil form crumbs

Humus binds clay particles, microbes and fungal threads into aggregates. Aggregated soil is the reason a soil can drain freely and still hold water — and why it's pleasant to dig.

Supports soil life

Bacteria and fungi need habitat and an energy source, not just food for the plants above them. Organic matter is what they live in.

Straight answer: this is not a fertilizer

HS-2^® PRO is sold as a soil amendment. It doesn't replace feeding your plants and it isn't plant food. It works on the soil that holds the food. Keep your normal fertilizer program — the point is that more of it stays where you put it.

How to use it

Mix, water, repeat.

No special equipment, no soil test required to get started.

[GARD-02] Full directions for use needed — dilution ratio per volume of water, application volume per sq ft / per container, frequency, and whether foliar application is supported. Must match the approved product label exactly.

Dilute

Mix [GARD-03] rate of HS-2^® PRO into [GARD-04] volume of water in a watering can or hose-end sprayer.
Water it in

Apply to the soil surface around the base of plants until moist — roughly [GARD-05] volume per area. Soil, not leaves, is the target.
Repeat through the season

Keep feeding as normal

Soil change is slow and undramatic. We'd rather set that expectation now than have you looking for fireworks next Tuesday.

In the first few weeks

Reasonable things to ask

Is this organic?

[GARD-39] Answer requires certification status. State only what is documented: OMRI listing, USDA-NOP allowance as an input, or neither. Do not use the word "organic" as a marketing adjective if the product is not certified.

Can I use it with my existing fertilizer?

Yes — that's the intended way to use it. HS-2^® PRO addresses the soil's ability to hold and cycle nutrients; it doesn't supply them in fertilizer quantities. [GARD-40] Confirm any tank-mix or compatibility cautions.

Can I overdo it?

[GARD-41] State the maximum rate and what happens beyond it. Must match label directions.

Is it safe around pets and children?

[GARD-42] Answer from the SDS and label precautionary statements only. No informal reassurance — quote the label.

What does it smell like?

[GARD-43] Honest description. Fermented forest material — worth answering directly, since customers will notice.

How is this different from the humic acid product already on the shelf?

Most humic products are made by mining a humus deposit such as leonardite, drying and grinding it, then extracting a component with alkali. HS-2^® PRO starts from naturally fermented Japanese cedar and hinoki organic matter and uses water extraction to capture the soluble fraction — the part of the humus cycle that moves through soil on its own. Does it come from Japanese soil?

No — and that's worth being clear about. Nothing is dug out of a forest. HS-2^® PRO is made from forest-derived organic matter that is naturally fermented and water-extracted. The connection to Japanese forests and Satoyama landscapes is where the thinking came from, not a soil we harvest.

How long does an opened bottle last?
